McMenamins White Eagle Saloon & Hotel

Interesting McMenamins locale. Small stage for live music, and while it could be intimate, that's not the atmosphere I found on a Thursday in November. In-house sound left something to be desired, but Carrie (sp?) behind the bar is a gem

Fun place to see Dead Sometimes.. Grateful tribute band. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Good food as per McMenamins.. good drinks and prices and an interesting classic of an old hotel and bar. With nice outdoor patio and actual rooms to rent! :)

Live music, quaint hotel rooms, pure mcmen vibes. Service is actually decent at this one, prob since the bar and seating is so comparatively tiny. Great beer as always, i support mcmens since they train so many pdx brewmasters that go on to lead amazing breweries.

This a unique spot and is absolutely a place I'd go back to for live music. We heard KJ Moore whom Id never heard of but was transfixed by their dark bluegrass feel. The sound balance was excellent although there was very little seating where you could see them. I recommend coming early. The place was decorated and laid out like a cozy dark saloon which was fun if a tad unpractical at times. Service was fine. I think one of the barkeeps was having a hard night but the other was very nice. The whiskey they served (I felt required to get whiskey at a saloon) was the best Ive ever had. Even their food was fabulous. While the experience wasnt all around perfect, it was a great date for my wife and I. I'd love to come back!

Great food and atmosphere! We caught Rhapsody in Ted, a great local band and had dinner. Good stuff all the way around!

The White Eagle has its own unique charm and they've added AC since the last time I was there!! That's fantastic! I stay whenever I'm in Ptown for a concert at Moda. Been staying here for a couple decades at this point and will continue for more years to come.

It was nice but the music was bad and went on until midnight. We would have gone downstairs to have a drink but the music wasn't our cup of tea. Also we were right above it and could feel the bass through the bed! We would have gone out if they informed us through email what style of music was going to be playing and it was going to be until midnight. The staff was kinda of weird too. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay!

I love this hotel and have stayed here many many times. I remember when full rooms went for about $45/night, and they're more than twice that now. You need to know the music goes on til late, so if you stay here and it bothers you, that's on you. My issues this time around were simple - they've switched to new low flow shower heads, and I can't get soap out of my long thick hair with a trickle like that. Also, they only put out one pot of coffee in the morning for 10 hotel rooms, so if you wake at 9am like me, you're out of luck.
